Different Perspectives

The train tickets for our bounce through Italy arrived in the mail. Pretty slick set-up; just went to Trenitalia's website and got them ordered. I think it was a good call as we are there during PEAK season. (Who's idea was that?) $740 will get 1st class seating for 4 people for 5 trips. The lure for 1st class was that it "offers large, comfortable reclining seats and a bar-buffet car offering a complete selection of food and beverages for purchase". As two of my boys are over six foot and all three are bottomless pits, this was the sensible option.

We're making stops/stays in some places you've heard of; Venice, Milan, Levanto, La Spezia, Pisa and Rome. I have been to these places before, once with my parents and sister and another time with my husband and boys.

Not surprisingly, there's a distinguishable difference in travel style when you are with your parents and when you are with your kids.

When you travel with adults, there is mature appreciation of the sights and sounds of the area you visit. There is more focus on documenting unforgettable moments in time like this:
When you travel with your boys, there are also moments of appreciation for the culture and its nuances. Photo's come from a different perspective though. Like strategically positioning someone to make the spurt of an Italian fountain in the background look like it comes from... well, a different source.
